Jashore: A Class-IV girl of a primary school in Maniranpur upazila has been given transfer certificate (TC) after being raped allegedly by its headmaster.

Victim’s mother alleged that Mahadev Biswas, headmaster of BBGHS Govt Primary School, violated her daughter after the school hours on April 4.

As the girl narrated the incident to her parents, they approached Manab Sarkar, president of the school managing committee.

However, Manab offered Tk 30,000 to them to hush up the incident, the victim’s mother said, adding that he handed over a TC to her on April 8.

Contacted, Palash Kabti Biswas, assistant education officer of Manirampur who is heading a probe body to look into the incident, said they will submit their report within a couple of days.

Meanwhile, the headmaster denied all the allegations brought against him, saying he did not issue any TC.

On the other hand, Manab Sarkar declined to make any comment.
