Habiganj: A farmer was killed and two others injured after being hit by a thunderbolt while they were harvesting paddy at a haor in Baniachang upazila of Habiganj on Wednesday.

Ershad Ali, chairman of Kagapasha union, said Azim Uddin, in his forties, of Bashiapra village died on the spot while Abdul Hakim and Askar Mia of Moka village sustained injuries when a thunderbolt hit them around 11:30am.

Azim used to live at his father-in-law’s house in Maka village since his marriage.

The injured were taken to local hospital.
