Dhaka city AL leader quizzed over corruption allegation
Dhaka: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has interrogated Shah-e-Alam Murad, organising secretary of Dhaka city Awami League, for acquiring wealth allegedly through illegally means.
ACC deputy director Sheikh Abdus Salam questioned him for several hours starting from 10:00am Tuesday at the ACC head office in Dhaka, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB.
On February 1, 2016, the national graft watchdog sent a notice to Murad, asking him to be present at the ACC head office to face questioning on Tuesday.
According an allegation received by the ACC, Murad accumulated a huge wealth illegally and become chairman of Makan Group abusing his party’s power.
