Minister for flourishing autistic children’s talents

Dhaka: Cultural Affairs Minister Asaduzzaman Noor said on Saturday autistic children will not be considered as a burden to the society if they are transformed into ‘wealth’.
The minister was speaking as the chief guest at the ‘Global Autism Awareness Campaign’ event organized by the International Autism Foundation at Bakultala of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Dhaka University, reports the UNB.
‘They have a lot of talent. It is our moral responsibility to motivate them and develop the talent. To build these special children as the capable people, firstly, safe environment is needed to be created,’ said the minister.
Dhaka University Vice-Chancellor Professor Akhtaruzzaman inaugurated the campaign while President of the International Autism Foundation poet Masud Rana presided over the campaign event.
Dulal Guyin, a teacher of the Faculty of Fine Arts of Dhaka University, highlighted the problems and possibilities of autistic children.
The chief guest said several public and private companies are working to engage with them (autistic children) in mainstreaming them into the society. Autistic children require special care and providing so is not possible without specially trained and skilled manpower.
