Quota protesters’ 2-hr strike underway

Dhaka: The two-hour strike enforced by quota protestors is underway in colleges and universities across the country on Sunday.
Students began observing their strike around 11:00am by suspending classes and examinations.
The agitated students hold a human chain on Dhaka University campus demining immediate issuance of gazette notification abolishing quota system in government jobs as per the Prime Minister’s announcement.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Bangladesh General Students Rights Protection Alliance gave the government a 24-hour ultimatum to publish a gazette notification.
Convener of the alliance Hasan Al Mamun came up with the announcement from a press briefing as the government failed to publish a gazette on by Thursday.
