Dhaka: President Abdul Hamid on Sunday hosted an iftar party in honour of freedom fighters, family members of Birshresthas, and orphans, religious scholars and Bangabhaban officials and employees.

President went around different tables set for the guests, exchanged pleasantries with them and inquired about their well-being prior to the iftar at the Darbar Hall of Bangabhaban, reports the UNB.

Earlier, a special munajat was offered seeking divine blessings for continued peace, progress and prosperity of the country and the nation.

Ministers, secretaries and a good number of war-wounded freedom fighters, country’s eminent alem-ulemas, orphans from different child homes, and officials and employees of Bangabhaban attended the iftar party.

President’s family members were present.

Social Welfare Minister, Rashed Khan Menon and Liberation War Affairs Minister, AKM Mozammel Haque were also present there.
