Country’s eminent personnel giving garland to NTV Chairman Al-haj Mohammad Mosaddak Ali marking the NTV’s seventh anniversary at its office.

Dhaka: The first automation-based private satellite television channel of the country, International Television Channel Limited (NTV) celebrated its seventh anniversary on 3 July 2010.

With the slogan ‘Somoyer Sathe Agamir Pothe’ (heading towards the future with time) holding Bangla language and culture close to heart, Al-haj Mohammad Mosaddak Ali established the NTV on 3 July 2003.

The television channel celebrated its seventh year of success and tried to make the day memorable with boundless festivity.

Noted socialites, political leaders, eminent journalists and cultural figures attended the ceremony as honourable guests and some of them addressed the audience.

NTV Chairman Al-haj Mohammad Mosaddak Ali and the then Managing Director Enayetur Rahman welcomed the guests and addressed the audience on the occasion.

Among others, the then Commerce Minister Faruk Khan, Awami League leader Abdul Jalil (now deceased), BNP Secretary General Khandaker Delwar Hossain (now deceased), the then senior BNP leader Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir (now Secretary General), senior BNP leader Moudud Ahmed, senior BNP leader Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, eminent lawyer and BNP leader Khandaker Mahbub Hossain, BNP leader Goyesshor Chondro Roy, the then Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University AAMS Arefin Siddique, eminent lawyer of the country Barrister Rafiq ul Haque, the then Prime Minister’s Press Secretary Abul Kalam Azad, the then FBCCI president Abul Kalam Azad, eminent journalist Golam Sarwar, journalist Riazuddin Ahmed, journalist Kamal Uddin Sobuj, the then Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s special assistant Mahbubul Hoque Shakil (now deceased) and the then DMP Commissioner AKM Shahidul Haque.

Chairman of NTV Al-haj Mohammad Mosaddak Ali, in his speech, said, ‘I would like to thank our honourable Prime Minister, opposition leader, cable operator, NTV staff and audiences for encouraging us with your support and cooperation for last seven years. I also seek your cooperation and advice to make our journey impressive and NTV wants to work together for ever.’

Enayetur Rahman said, ‘I would like to thank who have been supporting us since NTV’s establishment. We have completed seventh successful years and I hope all of you will support us like the previous years and thank you all.’

Later, the guests cut a spectacular cake to celebrate the occasion.
