Dhaka: Bangladesh Railway authorities started selling advancetrain ticketson Fridayon the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

Hundreds of holidaymakers standing in long queues were seen collecting tickets forJune 10journey at Kamalapur Railway Station on the first day of advance train tickets sale.

Each passenger will be able to buy maximum four tickets.

As per the Railway’s previous announcement, tickets for June 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 will be available onJune 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 respectively.

Besides, the return tickets for the journey ofJune 19will be available onJune 10and that forJune 20onJune 11, forJune 21onJune 12, forJune 22onJune 13and forJune 23onJune 14and forJune 24onJune 15.

The Eid-ul-Fitr, the largest religious festival of Muslims, is expected to be celebrated onJune 16next, depending on moon sighting.

Over six million people are expected to leave the capital by trains, buses, and water vessels for their respective village homes to celebrate the Eid holidays with their near and dear ones.
