RAB officials involved in Twaki murder: Shamim

Narayanganj: Some Rapid Action Battalion and Police officials were involved in killing schoolboy Tanvir Mohammad Twaki, claimed Shamim Osman, a ruling Awami League lawmaker from Narayanganj.
In an interview with the NTV on Friday, the Awami League leader demanded judicial investigation into the killing and bring the murderers to justice.
Earlier on 28 February while addressing a reception at Madanganj in Narayanganj, he said Twaki killing involved a woman.
Shamim on Friday said: ‘We demand justice in the killing of Twaki. Recently, I in several rallies and television interviews demanded judicial inquiry into the killing.’
He also mentioned the RAB investigation processes: ‘It is said that RAB is going to submit a charge-sheet in the case. I, though, am not informed about it. However, somebody is claiming it. Top RAB officials were aware about the investigating RAB officials, against whom I was speaking and who later got involved in Narayanganj Seven-Murder without taking any prior order from the high-ups.’
Shamim Osman brushed aside the allegations of his alleged involvement in the killing. He said, ‘A corrupted women of Narayanganj, who is financed by an agency or by a party, brought allegations against me in that time. Such game is still going on and that only serves political purposes. I demand, a judicial inquiry be made into the killing, provided that is needed.’
He said, ‘Two RAB officers, one was once in Narayanganj and a police ASP and Major Arif, and their associates were involved in the incident. Because I know, I believe that huge money was spent to eliminate Awami League from Narayanganj.’
Twaki was kidnapped on the way home from a Narayanganj library on 6 March 2013. Police found him dead at the River Shitalakshya on 8 March morning.
Today is the second anniversary of death of Twaki, but law enforcers failed to submit charge sheet over the case.
