Man killed in Dhaka road crash; microbus torched

Dhaka: An angry mob torched a microbus after it hit two pedestrians in Dhaka’s Jatrabari on Friday, leaving one dead, UNB reported.
Tofazzal Hossain alias Malo, 60, was declared dead at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) while his nephew Jasim was undergoing treatment at the hospital.
DMCH sources said the microbus crashed into Tofazzal and Jasim who were standing on the road island at Shanir Akhra around 3:30pm after its driver lost his control over the steering.
Outraged at the accident, the mob set fire to the microbus.
On information, two fire-fighting units went to the spot and doused the flame, said duty officer at the Fire Service central control room Mizanur Rahman.
However, the driver managed to flee the scene.
