Dhaka: A young man was killed in a reported gunfight with detectives in Bhatara area in the capital city on early Monday.

The deceased is identified as Shariful Islam, 28, reports the UNB.

Shahin Aman Ullah, sub-inspector of Bhatara Police Station, said on information, a team of police rescued bullet-hit Shariful from 300 feet road in Bashundhara gate area.

Doctors declared him dead when he was taken to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital.

However, the details about the gunfight could not be known yet.
