Pabna: A woman allegedly poisoned her son and herself to death over a family feud at Baharpur village in Ishwardi upazila in Pabna on Friday night, reports local news media.

Dr Ashiqur Rahman Sagar, a physician at Ishwardi upazila health complex, quoting family members, said Papiya Sultana, believed to at her 30, wife of Mizanur Rahman, took poison after feeding the same to her two sons-Imon,4, and one-year-old Jibon—following a family feud.

Local people went to the spot and took the three of them to the upazila health complex at about 10:00pm where Papiya and Jibon were declared dead at about 10:30pm.

However, Imon was shifted to Pabna General Hospital as his condition worsened.

The Ishwardi police said Papiya had an argument with her husband centring a family issue and as a sequel to it, she committed suicide after feeding poison to her two sons.

An unnatural death case was filed in this connection.
