Benapole: Police arrested a man for allegedly violating a minor girl at Abadkachia village in Sadar upazila of Jessore on Saturday morning.

Sadar police officer-in charge Elias Hossain said the arrestee, believed to be 55, a resident of the village, lured the minor girl away into his room with sweet and raped her there at about 9:00am.

Later, family members rescued the victim after hearing her scream, confined and thrashed the arrestee.

Being informed by locals, police rushed in and arrested him.

A case was filed.
