Dhaka: People from all walks of life, including Bangladesh’s foreign friends, on Sunday paid their deep respect to those who lost their lives in the Gulshan Holey Artisan Cafe; terror attack on July 1, 2016.

Representatives from various political parties, foreign and diplomatic missions, police and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) paid their respect to the cafe; attack victims at the site of the Gulshan carnage in the morning.

Japan Ambassador in Dhaka Hiroyasu Izumi, Italian Ambassador in Dhaka Mario Palma, representative from Australia Embassy, Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia, RAB Director General Benazir Ahmed paid their homage to the victims of the terror attack.

Besides, a delegation of Awami League led by its General Secretary Obaidul Quader paid their homage to the victims around 10:25 am.

Meanwhile, a BNP delegation led by its Vice-chairman Major Gen (Retd) Ruhul Alam Chowdhury paid their respects to the victims around 1:30 pm.

Twenty-two people—nine Italians, seven Japanese, one Indian, one Bangladeshi-born American and two Bangladeshis—were killed in the terror attack on the upscale restaurant on July 1, 2016.

A case was filed with Gulshan Police Station in connection with the terror attack. Later, the case was shifted to the Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
