Jessore: Two people, including a woman, were killed and 10 others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck at Batar Amtala on Jessore-Magura road in Bagharpara upazila on Monday morning.

One of the deceased is Salma Sultana, 32, wife of Zahid Hossain, a resident of Hazipara in Agrabad area of Chittagong, reports UNB.

Another deceased could not be identified immediately.

Chhoiruddin, officer-in-charge of Bagharpara Police Station, said a Benapole-bound bus of ‘Green Line Paribahan’ from Chittagong collided with a truck coming from the opposite direction in the area at about 7:30am, leaving the duo, both passenger of the bus, dead on the spot and 10 people injured.

The injured were admitted to Jessore Medical College Hospital.
