Dhaka: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has started scrutinising wealth statement of Nur Hossain, the key suspect in Narayanganj seven-murder case, reports UNB.

An ACC team, led by its deputy director Zulfiker Ali, visited Siddhirganj of Narayanganj district on Monday to find out the wealth of Nur Hossain and his wife Ruma Akter.

Ali said the team visited Siddhirganj to assess the wealth of Nur and his wife, and identify how many homes they own. But the ACC official would not disclose the outcome of the field visit as he has no jurisdiction.

In November 2015, the national graft watchdog sent a notice upon Nur, seeking his wealth statement within seven days. On December 13, 2015, he submitted his wealth report to the ACC through jail authorities, mentioning his wealth worth Tk 1.78 crore.

Seven people—Narayanganj City Corporation councilor Nazrul Islam, senior lawyer Chandan Sarkar and five others were abducted from Narayanganj link road on April 27, 2014, and later they were killed.

Nur fled to India on April 30, 2014 but he was brought home back on November 13, 2015.
