Rajshahi: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members have been deployed in Rajshahi, Barishal and Sylhet cities ahead of the city corporation elections.

A total 19platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members have been deployed in Rajshahi, 15 platoons in Barishal and 14 platoons in Sylhet cities, said BGB sources, reports the UNB.

The border guards were deployed at different parts of the cities in the morning to avert any untoward incident during the election.

The authorities have deployed BGB to assist the administration and they will remain deployed until July 31.

The city corporation polls will be held in Rajshahi, Barisal, and Sylhet on July 30.
