Noakhali: Miscreants torched a local land office in Sadar upazila early Saturday, during the indefinite countrywide transport blockade, enforced by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party-led 20-Party Alliance.

Mahabub Alam, senior station officer of Maizdi Fire Station, said a group of miscreants set afire the land office (assistant commissioner’s office) by hurling a petrol bomb in the area at about 3:00am, burning down valuables documents.

Informed, two firefighting units rushed in and doused the blaze.
