Dhaka: Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)on Wednesday detained the owner of ‘Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan’, a bus of which ploughed through some students, killing two of them dead in front of Kurmitola General Hospital on Airport Road in the capital on Sunday.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of the RAB-1 battalion held Shahadat Hossain, the owner of the killer bus (DM-Ba-11-9297), from the city on Wednesday noon, said Company Commander Major Rakibuzzaman of RAB-1.

He, however, did not mention the name of the place of detention saying that Shahadatwas under surveillance for the last two days.

On Sunday, Diya Khanam Mim and Abdul Karim Rajib, students of the college section of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin School and College, were killed as the bus of ‘Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan ploughed through some students on the Airport Road.

Students from different schools and colleges took to the streets for the fourth consecutive day on Wednesday demanding punishment of the driver responsible for the accident and resignation of the Shipping Minister for his ‘unpleasant’ comments over it.
