Himu murder accused Danny held

Chittagong: Police in a drive arrested Mahbub Ali Khan Danny, warranted accused in the Himadri Majumdar Himu murder case, from Panchlaish area of the city on Tuesday.

Sub-inspector Imran, duty officer of Panchlaish Police Station, said police raided the house of Danny, 28, son of Ahmed Ali Khan, in the area in the morning and arrested him.

Later, he was produced before the court which sent to him jail.

Himadri Majumdar Himu, an A-level student of Summerfield School and College in Chittagong, was pushed off a four-storey building after unleashing dog on him on April 27, 2012.

Later, he succumbed to his injuries on May 23 in 2012, 26 days after the incident.

Asit Das, maternal uncle of Himu, filed a case against five people with Panchlaish Police Station. The accused are Zahidur Rahman Shaon, Junayed Ahmed Riad, his father Shah Selim Tipu, Shahadat Hossain Saju and Mahbub Ali Danny.

On February 3, 2014, a court indicted the five people in the murder case.
