BNP trying to politicise student protests: Tofail
Bhola: Describing students’ demand for safe roads as logical, Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed on Thursday said BNP is trying to politicise the student protests.
‘The death of the two students in the road accident touched our hearts. Even Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed her condolence at their death. But BNP wants to do politics over all the issues,’ he said while talking to reporters after inaugurating a modern bus terminal in Charfasson upazila.
Tofail said everyone should see the road accident as a human issue and there should not be any room for politics over it.
He also said exemplary punishment will be meted out to those responsible for the road accident.
The new bus terminal was built on a 3-acre of land at a cost of Tk 20 crore.
State Minister for Environment, Forests and Climate Affairs Abdullah Al Islam Jacob also spoke at the programme.
