Selim for severing diplomatic ties with Pakistan

Parliament Building: Awami League lawmaker Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim on Tuesday urged the Foreign Affairs Ministry to sever diplomatic ties with Pakistan.
‘There’s no logical reason to have diplomatic ties with Pakistan. Now you (Foreign Minister) should take steps to cut diplomatic ties with Pakistan,’ he said while speaking on thanksgiving motion on President's speech in Parliament.
Selim said Pakistan is still involved in conspiracy against Bangladesh, and it has been trying to destabilise the country, instigating militancy and terrorism here.
A Pakistani diplomat has already been withdrawn from Bangladesh due to his link to militancy, he said adding that Pakistan has suspended Bangladeshi diplomat Moushumi Rahman violating diplomatic norms.
Criticising Bangladesh Nationalist Party Chairperson Khaleda Zia, the Awami League lawmaker said she has made derogatory remarks on the number of freedom fighters and the 1971 Liberation War.
He said a new law should be formulated to bring people make derogatory remarks on freedom fighters and the Liberation War under trial.
