Teachers fined for helping examinees in Dakhil exams

Barisal: A mobile court in Barisal on Tuesday sentenced a madrasa teacher to one year’s imprisonment and fined four other teachers for helping some Dakhil examinees with unfair means at an exam centre in Wazirpur upazila.
Omar Faruk, a teacher of Sakrail Alim Madrasa, was jailed for one year while four other teachers–Ibrahim, principal Ramijuddun, Rafikul Islam–of the same institution and Moktar Hossain, a teacher of Kalihata Madrasah, were fined Tk 20,000 each, reports UNB.
All of the teachers were on duty at the examination centre of Wazirpur Alim Madrasa during Tuesday’s Dakhil examination.
The mobile court of Wazirpur upazila nirbahi officer Jhumur Bala handed down the punishment.
The UNO told reporters that the convicts took snaps of the English 2nd paper question using mobile phone and sent those outside the examination centre.
Then they collected the answers and supplied those among the examinees with the help of the invigilators.
Being informed, the UNO rushed to the examination centre and set up a mobile court.
Later, he handed down the verdict after verifying the allegations.
