Dhaka: The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) has called all aspiring scientists, technologists and innovators to submit their best sustainable development ideas as part of their newly launched Transformers Roadshow in the city.

The deadline for all applications is midnight on August 28. Finalists will be announced on August 31 and will be invited to pitch at the Transformers Roadshow at the Radisson Blu, Dhaka, on September 9, reports the UNB.

The top three winners will be honoured at the opening ceremony of the Islamic Development Bank Bangladesh Hub on September 9.

The financial awards will be handed over by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and President of the Islamic Development Bank Dr Bandar Hajjar, said a press release on Saturday.

TransformersRoadshow is a science, technology and innovation competition in which entrepreneurs and scientists can pitch their ideas for ways to support one or more of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Applicants will be invited to present their submissions before an esteemed judging panel in Dhaka on 8th September, with the winning idea receiving an investment of $3,000 to further develop their proposals.

Participants will also benefit from a day of master classes and mentoring from a range of leading experts in sustainable development.
