Two ‘drug traders’ killed in Feni ‘gunfight’

Feni: Two suspected drug peddlers were killed in a reported gunfight with members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in BSCIC area under Sadar upazila early Monday.
The deceased were identified as Mohammad Mamun Morshed, 35, and Md Al-Amin, 25, reports the UNB.
RAB-7 Camp Company Captain Squadron Leader Shafayet Jamil said RAB troops set up a checkpost in the area to search passengers and they obstructed a motorcycle riding by the duo.
As they tried to flee, the elite force members gave them a chase.
At one stage, the young men opened fire on the RAB personnel, forcing them to fire back, triggering the gunfight which left Morshed and Al-Amin dead on the spot.
The team recovered 25,000 pieces of Yaba pill from the oil-tank of the motorcycle, one foreign pistol and five bullets from the spot.
