Narsingdi: Eight people were killed and 10 others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a human-hauler at Darikandi village on Dhaka-Sylhet highway in Belabo upazila on Monday night. 

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately. 

Tariqul Islam, officer-in-charge of Bhairab Highway Police Station, said the speedy bus collided with the three-wheeler around 9pm, leaving eight people dead on the spot and 11 others injured.

The injured were taken to Bhairab Health Complex, he said.
