Bagura: A woman and her daughter were found dead at their residence at Tinpotti in Sadar upazila early Tuesday.

The deceased were identified as Ruby Begum, 26, wife of Yusuf Ali Sheikh, a migrant worker, and their daughter Sumaya Khatun, 5, reports the UNB.

In the morning, neighbours peeped through the door of the victims and saw the slaughtered body of Ruby and strangled body of Sumaya lying on the bed.

They later informed the police and they recovered the bodies.

Additional Superintendent of Police Sanatan Chakrawarty said they could not yet hunt down the culprits but a manhunt was on.

The bodies were sent to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College for autopsy, he said.
