Dhaka: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Wednesday said in the Parliament that fuel crisis is not a barrier to the foreign investment in Bangladesh, rather the country is one of the best places for foreign investment due to its abound manpower and other facilities offered by the government.

Replying to a supplementary question from independent member Haji who said that the country is seeing a low trend of foreign investment, Sheikh Hasina said foreign investors are coming up with investment in various sectors including infrastructure, power, EPZs and Special Economic Zones as the government has created opportunities for them.

Replying to a question from Ali Azam of Bhola-2 constituency, she said the construction work of a 225 MW power plant has already been launched in Bhola.

She hoped that more gas will be available in the district and it will attract more foreign investment there.
