Gazipur: The private car of FH Priok, one of the victims of the tragic plane crash at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu,was guttedas it burst into flame on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway at Masterbari in the city on Saturday morning, reports the UNB.

Priok’s cousin Mehedi Hasan Masum, who survived the plane crash, was driving the car towards Joydebpur from Joina Bazar in Sripur upazila in the morning , said Pradip Kumar Mazumder, sub-inspector of Naujor Highway Police.

When he reached Rajendrapur, smokes started bellowing from the car around 7:30am.

Masum got down from the car immediately as the car caught fire at one stage on the highway.

On information, a firefighting team rushed in and doused the fire around 8 am.

A total of 51 people died when an aircraft of US-Bangla Airlines from Dhaka crashed at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu on March 12.

Priok and his daughter Priyonmoyee were among those who lost their lives in the tragic accident.

Priok’swife Annie, cousin Masum, and Mehedi’s wife Shwarna—survived the crash sustaining injuries.
