Dhaka: Young journalist Mamunur Rashid died while undergoing treatment at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases in the capital on Monday night.

Mamunur Rashid, a senior reporter of Ekushey TV covering the Prime Minister’s beat, breathed his last around11:30pm, his colleagues said, reports the UNB.

He was a student of Dhaka University's Mass Communication and Journalism department (2003-04 session).

Meanwhile, Ekushey TV's Chief Executive Officer and Chief Editor Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul, Chief News Editor Zahidul Islam, senior officials and journalists expressed deep shock at his death.

PM condoles death of the TV journalist

Prime Minister Sheikh Haisna on Tuesday expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of senior reporter of Ekushey TV Mamunur Rashid.

The Prime Minister prayed for the departed soul and expressed sympathy to the bereaved family, reports the UNB.

Mamunur Rashid died of cardiac arrest on Monday night at National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases.
