At least seven people, including two kids, were killed and six others injured in separate road accidents in Panchagarh, Pirojpur and Khulna districts on Saturday.

In Panchagarh, a father and his two sons were killed and his wife was injured in a road crash at Dhonipara area in Panchagarh on Dhaka-Panchagarh highway this evening.

The accident took place when an inter-district bus hit their motorcycle highway around 8:00pm, leaving Akhtaruzzaman dead on the spot, said AKM Nurul Islam, officer-in-charge of Boda Police Station.

However, locals took them to Panchagarh Sadar Hospital where the duty doctor declared the two sons dead.

The deceased were identified as Akhtaruzzaman, 45, his two sons Afsana Ibnat Adiya, 6, and 14-month-old Abdullah of Debiganj upazila here.

Tania Akhter, the mother of the children, was undergoing treatment at the hospital, the OC added.

On the other hand, a young man was killed while taking picture in front of moving truck on Panchaghar-Banglabandha highway at Boalmari in Tentulia upazila around 4:30pm.

The deceased was identified as Billah Hossain, 22, son of Kabul Hossain of Mazipara area in the upazila, said Jaharul Haque, officer-in-charge of Tentulia Police Station.

In Pirojpur, a retired school teacher was killed as an auto-rickshaw ran over him at Pukuria village in Sadar upazila, said Sub-inspector Kawsar Hossain of Pirojpur Sadar Police Station.

The deceased was identified as Murtuza Ali Mollah, retired headmaster of Bazukati Secondary School and son of late Mosharraf Ali of the village.

The accident took place a speeding auto-rickshaw hit Murtuza when he was returning home after prayer, leaving him critically injured.

Later, he died at Pirojpur Sadar Hospital while undergoing treatment, the SI said.

In Rajshahi, a man was killed and five others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a human hauler at Raypara area in Kashiadanga of the city around 5pm.

The deceased was identified as Rashed, son of the municipality area here, said Rabiul Islam, officer-in-charge of Kashiadanga Police Station.

In Khulna, a housewife was killed as a speeding truck ran over him at Natun Rastar Mor area in Khalispur, said Kazi Mostak, officer-in-charge of Daulatpur Police Station.

The deceased was identified as Lima Begum, 20, wife of Sadaf Hossain of Rampal upazila in Bagerhat district.

The accident took place when a speeding truck hit a human hauler, leaving her dead on the spot around 8pm. Later, the body sent to Khulna Medical College Hospital for autopsy, the OC added.
