Chittagong: Miscreants torched a compartment of a Chittagong University (CU) shuttle train at Sholashahar Railway Station in the city on Saturday night.

Master of the railway station AKM Farhaduzzaman said the miscreants set fire to the compartment of the stationary shuttle train at about 7:45pm.

The attackers also threw two crude bombs when locals were extinguishing the fire, he said adding that one Sumon sustained splinter injuries as one of the crude bombs exploded.

Farhad said the shuttle train was scheduled to leave the station for the university campus at 8:45pm.
