Bangladesh’s first-ever Y-shaped bridge, ‘Sheikh Hasina Titas Bridge’, built over Titas river joining Cumilla and Brahmanbaria districts.

Cumilla: Bangladesh’s first-ever Y-shaped bridge, ‘Sheikh Hasina Titas Bridge’, built over Titas river joining Cumilla and Brahmanbaria districts, will be inaugurated on Sunday.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to inaugurate the bridge through video conference from Gono Bhaban around 11:30 am.

The 771-meter long and 8.10-meter width bridge was constructed costing a total of Tk 1 billion under the supervision of Local Government Engineering Department (LGED) to make the road communications between two districts of the country’s southern-northern parts.

The bridge will ease the travel across Muradnagar and Homna upazilas of Cumilla district and Nabinagar and Bancharampur upazilas of Brahmanbaria district.

According to locals, after the inauguration of the bridge, people of the region will experience more development in education, business and medical sectors.

It will also be used as a bypass road connecting to the Chittagong-Dhaka highway.
