Dhaka: BNP on Monday announced to hold a public rally in the capital on Thursday to press its demands for releasing its Chairperson Khaleda Zia from jail and holding the next generation election under a non-party neutral administration.

BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvy came up with the announcement at a press conference at BNP’s Naya Paltan Central office, reports the UNB.

He said they have already sought permission from the authorities concerned to hold their rally either at Suhrawardi Udyan or in front of their Naya Paltan central office.

‘We have already completed the necessary process for holding our rally, we hope we will be able to hold a successful programme on Thursday,’ he said.

Earlier BNP held a public rally in front of its Naya Paltan central office on September 1 marking the party’s founding anniversary.
