Chittagong: Police arrested Chittagong Jamaat-e-Islami acting ameer Ahsan Ullah, and Islami Chhatra Shibir president Shafiqul Mawla Shumon from Halishahar area in Chittagong in the early hours of Sunday.

Ahsan Ullah and Shafiqul Mawla were held from separate places of Halishashar at about 1:00am.

Halishahar police officer-in-charge (OC) Shahjahan Kabir told NTV Online three cases including a violence case were filed against Ahsan Ullah.

OC said possessions from Ahsanullah’s Rasulbagh residence were captured as an arrest warrant was issued against him over a case filed in 2012.
