PM to inaugurate countrywide dev fair Thursday

Dhaka: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the 4th countrywide national development fair on Thursday next, aiming to showcase the development activities taken by the present government.

The three day-long fair will be held in the capital and all district and upazila headquarters throughout the country till October 6.

The Prime Minister will open the fair on Thursday morning through videoconferencing from her official residence Ganobhaban in the city, said an official release.

In the capital, the fair will be held with 11 stalls at the field of International Trade Fair in Agargaon area.

Development successes achieved in different sectors under the dynamic and farsighted leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will be exhibited in the countrywide fair.

Besides, 10 special initiatives taken by the Prime Minister, international recognitions and successes, the Visions 2021 and 2041, Bangabandhu Satellite, mega projects, including Padma Bridge and Rooppur Nuclear Power Plant as well as investment prospects will be displayed in the fair.

The Mass Communication Directorate will project the government’s successes among people through its district offices, while Bangladesh Betar will air the government’s development activities.

Different government offices, agencies, banks, and insurance and other financial institutions will participate in the district and upazila-level fairs to be arranged by the local administrations.

Besides, reality show, essay competition and printing contest will be arranged with the participation of students in the fair.
