The last regional selection round of Dan Cake Dessert Genius 2018 ended through Dhaka selection round on Thursday.

The two-day-long selection process was held at Golden Tulip Hotel in Dhaka. 154 participants participated in the selection round.

The month-long regional selection round kicked off in Mymensingh on September 12, 2018. Total 36 participants received ‘YES Cards’ to participate in the Studio round from the regional selection rounds held in Mymensingh, Bogura, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal, Sylhet, Kumilla, Chattogram and Dhaka.

The chief operating officer of Dan Cake Firoz Ahmed said, ‘Dan Cake is extremely pleased to have taken this initiative and are excited by the tremendous response we received. We are happy to find such talented dessert makers from different parts of the country.’

The head of marketing for Dan Cake Minhaj Hossain informed that the Studio Round of the competition will start from October 13 with the 36 select participants. He also informed that after the studio round, the final Gala round will be held on October 19, 2018. Three winners will be selected from the 10 participants. The top winner will be crowned as the ‘Dan Cake Dessert Genius 2018’ and will win a trip to Denmark with a partner.

Chef Afroza Naznin Shumi, Nafiz Islam Lipi and Mahbuba Chowdhury were the judges of the Dhaka round.

Among others Nawazish Ali Khan, advisor program of ATN Bangla was present at the programme.
