Bogura: Two female bus passengers suffered injuries in a bomb attack on the vehicle on Dhaka-Bogura highway at Sajapur in Shahjahanpur upazila on Wednesday noon after the pronouncement of verdicts in two August-21 grenade attack cases.

The injured are Munira Begum, 40, wife of Nazrul Islam of Shimulbari village in Jhaldhaka upazila, and Anjuara Begum, 50, wife of Mozammel Haque of Sadar upazila in Nilphamari district, reports the UNB.

Latiful Islam, officer-in-charge of Shahjahanpur Police Station, said some miscreants, numbering 8-10, hurled a petrol bomb on the Dhaka-bound ‘Nabil Paribahan’ bus from Nilphamari while crossing the area around 12:45pm, leaving Munira and Anjuara injured.

A fire also broke out in the bus following the attack which was doused immediately.
