Dhaka: A human chain was formed in the city on Saturday demanding Awami League’s nomination to Swechchhasebak League’s organizing secretary Sheikh Sohel Rana Tipu in Rajbari-2 constituency in the next general election.

The programme was arranged in front of the Jatiya Press Club under the banner of ‘general people’ of Rajbari-2 constituency (comprising of Pangsha, Kalukhali and Baliakandi upazilas), reports the UNB.

Assistant Professor at Law Department of Dhaka University BM Ashrafuzzaman, former organising secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) BM Ihtesam, former assistant secretary of BCL Qamruzzaman Khan Sweety and organising secretary of BCL Jagannath University unit MA Momen spoke at the event.

They demanded providing former BCL Dhaka University unit president Sheikh Sohel Rana Tipu with Awami League’s ticket in Rajbari-2 constituency in the upcoming general election.

The participants also displayed different banners depicting development activities conducted by the current government particularly in Rajbari-2 constituency.
