Chittagong: Police in an overnight drive recovered 70 Molotov cocktails, 50 crude bombs, four light guns, 12 sharp weapons and 24 rounds of bullet from Nunachhara in Sitakunda upazila in the early hours of Sunday.

The law enforcers also arrested three people for their suspected involvement in this connection.

The arrestees could not be identified immediately.

Tipped off, seven platoons of the district police conducted a drive in the area, said Additional Superintendent of Police (North) Mustafizur Rahman.

During the drive, the law enforcers recovered 70 Molotov cocktails, 50 crude bombs, four light guns, 12 sharp weapons and 24 rounds of bullet, he said.

They also arrested three people suspecting their involvement in stocking those items.

The destructive items were kept in the area to carry out subversive activities, the ASP added.
