Dhaka: Chief Justice Surendra Kumar Sinha on Sunday said delivering verdicts in Bangla is tough.
Talking to reporters at the Central Shahid Minar in Dhaka, SK Sinha said several judges had already delivered their judgements in Bangla. But that is very tough for lack of manpower.
Explaining the situation, the chief justice said a good number of cases are pending in high court, which is experiencing huge manpower crisis. The usual practise is here to deliver judgements in English. Most of the laws are in English. Most of the reference books are in English. He said situation becomes more complicated when it appears that most of the related reference books, both local and foreign, are in English.
He suggested manpower increase to avoid such difficulties.
