Savar: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Thursday said a ‘rehabilitation centre’ has been opened, led by Dr Kamal Hossain, to ‘ruin’ Bangladesh.

‘There’s neither president nor convener nor any leader but the name is Oikyafront. Kamal Hossain will not hold any post. Then what will be the fate of Oikyafront in the absence of Khaleda Zia and his son,’ he said while speaking at an election rally at Savar bus stand, reports the UNB.

Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, alleged that BNP has formed Oikyafront together with ‘sick persons’ to introduce ‘unhealthy’ politics in the country.

He also claimed that BNP has formed the alliance with Kamal to ‘minus’ Khaleda from the party.

Describing BNP as the mastermind of August 21 grenade attack, the ruling party leader said the party is now a dead river. ‘It’d announced to wage a movement after eid. At least 20 eids have already passed by, but there’s no movement.’

He said there is no foundation of BNP-led Oikyafront. ‘People will elect AwamiLeage again in the next election.’

Quader also warned that if BNP tries to launch any ‘illegal’ movement over the election, it will be thwarted with an iron hand.

Expressing his annoyance over the party leaders’ campaign for bagging candidacy through banners, festoons and big billboards ahead of election, he said nomination will be given judging competency.
