Two held with pepper spray at Hefajat’s rally

Dhaka: Police arrested two young men along with a pepper spray from Hefajat-e Islam rally in the capital’s Suhrawardy Udyan on Sunday morning, reports the UNB.
The arrestees were identified as Abidur Rahman, 19 and Abdullah Mamun, 19.
Police arrested them after recovering a paper spray from their possession while they were entering the rally, said assistant sub-inspector Rafiq of Hazaribagh Police Station
Later, they were handed over to Shahbagh Police Station.
Al-Hiyatul Ulya Lil-Zami’atil Qawmiya Bangladesh, a combine of Qawmi education boards, organised the event to hail the passage of a bill making the Dawra-e-Hadith degree equivalent to master’s in Islamic studies and Arabic.
