Dhaka: Miscreants attempted to set fire to a book stall in the month-long Amar Ekushey Book Fair on Monday.

Shahbagh Police Station officer-in-charge AB Siddique said a group of miscreants set fire to a heap of papers behind the stall, Platform, at about 6:00pm, reported United News of Bangladesh.

Sensing the fire, stall employees along with the help of fair visitors doused the blaze before fire fighters reached the spot, he said, adding that fire could not cause any damage.

‘We’re trying to identify the miscreants scrutinising the video footage,’ the OC said.
