Khagrachhari: Two abducted officials of a contracting firm were rescued from an inaccessible area in sadar upazila on Monday evening, eight days after their abduction, reports UNB.

Police rescued Md Ruhul Amin, 50, manager of the firm and his assistant Saifuddin Shahin Gazi, 35, blindfolded from Bhaibonchhora area of the upazila, said officer-in-charge of Panchhari Police Station Abdul Jabbar.

The duo, hailing from Pirojpur district, were abducted from Taltola area of the upazila on 14 February.

It was not clear who abducted them and why.
