Saver: Four members of a family sustained burn injuries as some unidentified miscreants set fire on their house at Bakterpur in Savar, on the outskirts of the capital early Thursday.

The injured were identified as Zahid, 35, his wife Sumi Akter, 30 and their children Sumaiya Akter, 9, and Suraia Akter, 5, reports the UNB.

A fire broke out at the house of Zahid when a group of miscreants hurled some inflammable substance to the house through the window around 5:30 am, leaving four people injured, according to locals.

Later, the victims’ neighbours rescued them and took them to Savar Enam Medical College Hospital.

The condition of the four victims was stated to be critical, said Nasir Uddin, an in-charge of the hospital (OT).

On information, police went to the spot and investigating the incident, said Abdul Awal, officer-in-charge of Savar Model Police Station.
