Joypurhat: Police recovered the throat-slit body of a man from a paddy filed in Kashra-Gobindapur village of Panchbibi upazila on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Naju Mandal, a van puller and son of Masum Mandal of the village, reports the UNB.

Quoting family members, police said someone called Naju out over phone on Tuesday night since then he did not return home.

On Wednesday morning, locals spotted his body in the area and informed police who recovered the body.

The motive behind the murder could not be known immediately.
