Awami League-led Grand Alliance and 14-party alliance will officially announce the names of its nominated candidates for the upcoming national election on Monday, according to the party’s General Secretary Obaidul Quader, reports the UNB.

Quader revealed this Sunday at a press briefing in the political office of Awami League President Sheikh Hasina in the city’s Dhanmondi.

He also said the AL’s alliance partners in the 14-party Mohajote will most likely get 70 seats to compete in between them.

Awami League on Sunday issued letters to the aspirants for 230 constituencies who have been selected to contest the upcoming 11th parliamentary elections.

The party’s General Secretary Obaidul Quader started handing over the nomination papers among candidates in the morning at its office in the city’s Bangabandhu Avenue at 10:30am.

The nomination seekers said they got phone calls on Saturday for receiving the nomination letters from the party office.

Awami League on November 9 started selling its nomination papers for the forthcoming 11th parliamentary elections.

The 11th general election will be held across Bangladesh on December 30. The last date for withdrawal of candidature is December 9 and returning officers will scrutinize the nomination papers on December 2.

According to the schedule, candidates must file their nomination papers either online, or manually, by November 28.
