Another suspect confesses to his part in Habiganj 4-kids killing
Habiganj: Habibur Rahman Arju, who was arrested in connection with the killing of four children at Sundrateki village in Bahubal upazila, gave his deposition before a court on Wednesday where he confessed to his involvement in the killing.
Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Kawsar Alam recoded the statement of Arju in the case, according to a UNB report.
Before this one, the court has recorded the depositions of two others in the case.
Shahidul islam, additional superintendent of police, said Arju in his statement disclosed the name of another perpetrator in connection with the killing.
Arju also revealed that 8-9 people were involvement in the crime, he added.
Earlier, Rubel Miah and his elder brother Jewel Miah gave their confessional statements before the court under section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure on February 19 and February 21 respectively.
Four schoolboys were found buried at the village February 17. They went missing from Sundrateki village in Bahubal upazila on February 12
On February 17, police arrested Abdul Ali and his son Jewel Miah in connection with the gruesome murder. They were placed on a 10-day remand the following day.
Police had also arrested Rubel, Arju, Bashir and Saleh Uddin in connection with the incident. Later, a court placed Arju on a seven-day remand while Bashir on a five-day remand in this connection.
