Sirajganj: A housewife has chopped off the penis of a man who tried to rape her at Bagbari village in Kamarkhand upazila on Sunday night.

Habibul Islam, officer-in-charge of Kamarkhand Police Station, said Dulal Hossain, 50, son of Zabed Ali of the village swooped on the house of the victim in absence of her husband and tried to rape her, reports the UNB.

At one stage, the housewife cut off the penis of Dulal in a bid to save her dignity, leaving him injured.

Hearing screams, local people took Dulal to local hospital where the doctors shifted him to Bagura Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.

Later, the housewife surrendered herself with the severe organ to the police station in the night.

Police will take action after receiving complaint, said OC.
